CAUSATIVE VERB “HAVE”

Causative “have” is followed by the simple form of a verb, not an infinitive. (causative “have” diikuti oleh verb 1 (tanpa tambahan s/-es), bukan diikuti oleh infinitif (to+verb1)).
Examples:
- I had John repair my bike. (CORRECT)
- I had John to repair my bike. (INCORRECT,because it is followed by an infinitive)
 Kalimat ke 2 salah karena diikuti oleh infinitif (to+verb1)
► “Have” gives the idea that “X” request “Y” to do something. ( “Have” menunjukkan bahwa “X” meminta “Y” untuk melakukan sesuatu.)
 The formula is: “X” has/have/had “Y” do something (simple form) (rumusnya adalah “X” has/have/had “Y” melakukakn sesuatu (verb dalam bentuk sederhana(verb1 tanpa tambahan s/-es)).
Examples: - Mary has John carry her bag.
Means(artinya): John carried the bag because Mary ask him to. ( John membawa tas karena Mary menyuruhnya).
-I have Jane put my books
Means: Jane put my books because I ask her to.
- Tom had Jane clean the room yesterday
 Using “had” because the adverb of time is yesterday. But still the verb is in simple form.

HAVE SOME THING DONE
(HAVE +Past Participle (Verb3)

The past participle(verb 3) is used after “have’ to give a passive meaning.
Examples: - I had my watch repaired (by someone) yesterday.
Means: I caused my watch to be repaired by someone. (saya menyuruh orang lain untuk memperbaiki jam tangan saya kemarin).
-I have my hair cut  means: I asked someone to cut my hair. (saya menyuruh seseorang untuk mencukur rambut saya)
- I am having my car washed at the moment  means: I am asking someone to wash my car at the moment. (pada saat ini saya SEDANG menyuruh seseorang mencuci mobil saya.)
You have to know the different between Have something done and present Perfect/ past perfect form.
HAVE SOMETHING DONE: I have my hair cut  means: I ask someone to cut my hair.
PRESENT PERFECT(S+HAVE/HAS+V3): I have cut my hair means: you cut your own hair.

PATTERNS for HAVE SOMETHING DONE:
• S + HAVE/HAS + OBJECT + VERB 3
• S + HAD + OBJECT +VERB3 +PAST TIME
• S + TOBE (IS/AM/ARE) + HAVING +OBJECT + VERB3 + NOW/RIGHT NOW/ AT THE MOMENT.
CONCLUSION:
- Use active sentence for causative “have” (using simple form of a verb) and passive sentence for have something done (using verb 3).
- For causative “have”  after subject you have to use the right form of “have” whether it is “have or has or had” then the object is people (someone), after that, you have to use a simple form of a verb (verb 1 without s/-es) in any kind of adverb of time (present time or past time still use simple form of a verb), you just choose the right form of “have”  “have or has” for present time, “had “ for past time.
- For have something done just follow the pattern.

When did crime in Indonesia, this will end?

As we know now, in Indonesia as a multicultural society has many kinds of people in it. Culture, arts, religion, customs, and even professions. In Indonesia, the majority of society is the lower classes, and middle. Minority is the upper class.

Speaking about the upper class in Indonesia, spoke about the officers who occupied the House of Representatives. They are the people who elect of the many communities that exist in Indonesia to accommodate the aspirations of this country. But in reality, they betrayed the promise of even the oath they had to say. It is ironic indeed, they are supposed to Stay promise to prosper the people of Indonesia but chose to enrich themselves, their families and even their offspring.

Some small examples, the House did poor study abroad that will cost billions of dollars. This is a very not make sense. Why? because they do not need to go abroad to study the poor, the reality in Indonesia, many needy people in abandoned, has not been solved by the Government. Why are they so have the heart to enrich himself with the right that was not hers. Really have the heart.

Those who enrich themselves, pleasing themselves with something that is not the right should be punished accordingly with what they do, such as corruption billions and even trillions of public money, not just with the way the law two years in prison only a year but by seizing all the goods or any he had. Whatever it is that can make them wary. But then again, there just want to enrich himself by bribing the parties concerned. When will corruption in Indonesia will end, if only the lowest classes have just been mentally corrupt. This sad state if kept in the hands of criminals.

Well, we as the young people of the nation should be able to resolve the problem of corruption in this country, right down to its roots. Until not no more people who think only about themselves, but also must think about the people defecate. Amin

My love

Almost two years and nine months ago, I was in a relationship with a girl named Alifah Amalia. She was not beautiful or rich girl, but she's very cute, fun and very rich in his heart. Talking about our relationship is not going to no end. starting from all our madness we often do, not infrequently we do the romantic. It's our way to maintain our relationship till this moment.

I'm the kind of man who is not romantic. But for me, attention, affection, respect and mutual trust is sufficient to prove to my girlfriend that I love her. According to the two of us, a relationship not just talking about the two of us, but also our family. No wonder, I am very familiar with her family, and so did with it.
However, there is one trait that really I do not like her. she is a jealous.

There are just things that make her jealous. but I always could make her smile again. Glad to see her smile and feel happy with me.
There is one memory that I will not forget the time with her. Last year, when my birthday, he gave me a surprise party with my friends. On that day, will be my last birthday with my father.

We love the simple Which means, we love each other not because of wealth, pretty or handsome face, but loved because of the underlying affection and love. It was more than enough. It is also often taught my father when he was in love with my mother. A simple way but has a meaning of luxury.

This year, we are entering its third year. I hope, we are always together when love and sorrow. And he became the last woman in my life. Always saying love with love, respect, understanding, and trust. I love her. Really love her very much. Love it because of my love of Allah SWT.

A Happy Little Family

My name is Achmad Rizky. I was born by a woman who is amazing. My mother's name is Salamah and my father's name is Eddy Iswanto. I have one older sister, her name is Septi Rahayu. I really love them all, and I want them to always be in near me, anytime, anywhere. But God said to another, the mother I died just a week when I entered junior high school, my father, my sister, and I was very shocked because it happened very suddenly, and I still can not accept this from happening.

Almost for weeks I was very sad lament the passing of my mother, until finally I was able to remove the departure of my mother in Heaven. I always pray for my mother. For years I lived with my father and my sister without the presence of a mother.
One day, my father took me and my sister to talk, but then my father is very hard to say that I and my sister will have a new mother, in other words my father will marry again. and asked my sister and me to decide, should or not.

This is something that is very hard to decide, because I still imagined memories of moments with my mom. But on the other, need someone to accompany my father, take care of himself until the end. therefore, I and my sister decided to accept the presence of a mother in the middle of our little family. Not long ago after that, my father married again with the woman he loves. and we live happily, and I hope this happiness will not be swallowed out of time. For years we have lived, a happy little family. My father was healthy, my stepmother healthy, older sister and me too. We really enjoy living like this.

I'm very familiar with my father. what he liked, what food he likes, what movies he watched often, even up to remark that he often gave to me. I remember them really, and not easy to forget everything. My father was a smoker, and quit smoking when my mother died. He is also one who loved coffee. And because the frequency of drinking coffee, he had heart disease, a disease that took my father went to see my mother in Heaven. It's not easy for me. It is not easy also for my sister. Even my stepmother. She cried all day, be silent a few days, but I know he is a strong female figure, until the end of life my father, he always accompany my father, take care of my father, and trying not to leave my father for a second.

Since the death of my father, I try to fulfill all the wishes that my father wanted me to, I always tried to maintain the mandate of my father, so that later I became a man who guarded the mother and sister, and men who successfully during life, and happy world and hereafter.
I also always pray for my father and my mother who had died, may my father and my mother always gets the best place in the sight of Allah, they will both meet in Heaven, acts of worship and accepted the Islamic faith by God Almighty Amin Yaa Rabbalamin.

ADVERBIAL CLAUSE

An adverbial clause is a clause that functions as an adverb. In other words, it contains a subject (explicit or implied) and a predicate, and it modifies a verb.
I saw Joe when I went to the store. (explicit subject I)
He sat quietly in order to appear polite. (implied subject he)
According to Sidney Greenbaum and Randolph Quirk, adverbial clauses function mainly as adjuncts or disjuncts. In these functions they are like adverbial phrases, but due to their potentiality for greater explicitness, they are more often like prepositional phrases (Greenbaum and Quirk,1990):
We left after the speeches ended. (Is it an adverbial clause, adverbial phrase, or prepositional phrase?)
We left after the end of the speeches.(Is it an adverbial clause, adverbial phrase, or prepositional phrase?)
Contrast adverbial clauses with adverbial phrases, which do not contain a clause.

The disappearing TUNA

People’s insatiable appetite for tuna has triggered a relentless hunt for the tasty fish, which is now threatening its very existence. This plundering of the ocean’s riches is also threatening the sustainability of its bio-diversity, as modern fishing methods endanger species such as turtles and other marine biota. The Jakarta Post’s A’an Suryana looks into this issue from Bitung, North Sulawesi.
Our love affair with tuna started eons of years ago. The Greeks salted and pickled it. The Romans succumbed to the flavor of the Mediterranean bluefin tuna, turning it into a staple food.

Thousands of years later, tuna is still as popular as ever. It has become part of many people’s diet, across the world. Even Americans have added it to their lunch box, while the Japanese have developed countless sophisticated ways of enjoying tuna.

The rare hon maguro or bluefin tuna is one of Japan’s most coveted delicacies, with a Pacific bluefin fetching as much as US$100,000 per fish. In Indonesia, tuna, especially the yellowfin or “big eyes” tuna, is often served in Padang restaurants across the country.

Some say tuna is popular because it is easier to eat and less smelly than other fish.

“I like tuna because it has a thick texture and not many bones,” said Budi Yanthi, a woman in her 30s. Rizki Amaliah (Kiki), a professional in the oil and gas industry, said tuna was easier on the nose.

“Tuna meat does not smell putrid,” she said.

Yanthi and Kiki are just two of many millions of Indonesians who enjoy eating tuna on a regular basis.

So far, they have been able to eat tuna to their heart’s content, as the oceans’ stocks have kept replenishing. Waters in the eastern part of Indonesia remain rich in yellowfin, skipjack and “big eye” tuna. But if the country doesn’t tackle over-fishing seriously, these species may suffer the same fate as the bluefin tuna, which has now joined the growing list of endangered species.

Over-fishing has been a growing issue of concern for stakeholders in the tuna industry and of course, conservationists.

The high demand for tuna, especially from Japan, has drawn fishing fleets from across the globe to waters rich in tuna, including the Gulf of Tomini, Sulawesi and the Maluku seas.

According to a senior official at the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ministry, the Arafura Sea has become a hotspot for fishing fleets from China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Fishermen from The Philippines prefer to hunt tuna in Sulawesi, Maluku, Halmahera, and the northern part of Papuan seas.

“They have modern fleets. We often fail to catch them as our fleets are aging,” said Johnny Banjarnahor, the head of the ministry’s eastern Indonesia fishing monitoring fleet based in Bitung. The fleet has only 10 boats and ships, too small a number to cover the vast expanses of eastern Indonesian waters.

A significant number of local fleets also contributes to over-fishing, therefore the government should also be held responsible for failing to regulate the number of local ships or boats operating in the country’s waters.
Local and central authorities are responsible for granting fishing licenses. The central government issues permits for ships with a fishing capacity of 30 gross tons, while the local government looks after licensing for ships that capture below 30 gross tons.

“The problem has emerged because local governments don’t limit the number of licenses they issue, on the grounds that issuing permits helps fatten local government coffers,” said Purwito Martosubroto, the chairman of Indonesia’s Tuna Commission. The body has been tasked with helping the government draft better policies to protect tuna in the country’s waters.

Tuna catch figures have stalled in recent years, according to data recorded in Bitung seaport. Between 2007 and 2010, the amount of fish caught and traded through Bitung seaport, mostly tuna, was as follows: 135,272 tons in 2007; 142,377 tons in 2008; 145,053 tons in 2009 and 146,940 tons in 2010. Some blame these stagnating numbers on over-fishing.

This is not an isolated case either. In Cilacap, Central Java, the amount of fish caught has been decreasing since 2008. While fishermen there were able to catch 5,600 tons in 2008 and 3,900 tons of fish in 2009, the figure dropped to 2,700 tons in 2010.

Local fishermen confirmed that catching tuna was getting harder nowadays. In the 1980s, local fishermen in Bitung could catch yellowfin tuna 3 kilometers away from the coast, but now they have to sail as far as 64 kilometers off Bitung coast to catch the fish.

“We can’t compete with foreign vessels and their modern equipment so we have to find tuna in high seas,” said Bitung fisherman, Buang Jusuf Tamara, who has been catching tuna for 20 years.

Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ministry data showed that the country had apprehended 186 foreign vessels for fishing illegally in Indonesia in 2008, compared to 184 the previous year.

The failure to manage over-fishing has not only taken its toll on local tuna catch, but has also damaged biodiversity in the country’s eastern waters.
Indonesia’s eastern waters are part of the renowned Coral Triangle region. The Coral Triangle — a geographical term referring to a triangular area in the tropical marine waters of Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Solomon Islands and Timor Leste — contains at least 500 species of reef-building corals in each eco-region. It covers an area of 5.4 million square kilometers of ocean across six countries. More than 3,000 species of fish live in the Coral Triangle, including the largest fish — the whale shark, and the coelacanth. It also provides habitat to six out of the world’s seven marine turtle species. The Coral Triangle comprises the highest coral diversity in the world: 76 percent (605) of the world’s coral species (798).

Trawling, a method of fishing that involves pulling a fishing net through the water behind one or more boats, threatens the region’s rich biodiversity. Bottom trawling, which involves dragging huge, heavy nets along the sea floor, crushes nearly everything caught in the process. Trawling is unselective and indiscriminate, catching tons of unwanted and fish and other sea creatures, also called bycatch. Global environmental group WWF estimates that at least 40 percent, or 38 million tons, of annual global marine catch is bycatch.

To help address over-fishing problems stemming from this relentless hunt for tuna, the Indonesian government needs to improve its fishing monitoring activities.

“The government has to improve its method of collecting fishing data. The government now has log book in which all fishermen have to declare the volume of their catch, so that based on the data in the logbook, the government can draft the right policy to control its tuna population. But the implementation has been far from perfect,” said Purwito.

In order to avoid paying tax, many fishermen under report the amount of fish caught, which means fish catch data isn’t reliable.

“The government needs to work out solution to tackle this problem,” said Purwito.

The other issue the government needs to address is the growing number of foreign vessels fishing illegally in Indonesian waters.

“The government needs to upgrade our fleets so we can chase and arrest foreign vessels fishing illegally [in our waters],” said Banjarnahor.
